COVID 19
The safety and wellbeing of our children is our paramount concern. It is recognised that spread of the virus is reduced by following stringent cleaning routines and maintaining distance from each other. However, we are aware that distancing ourselves from children may cause them significant mental health issues in their future. Our procedures reflect our commitment to ensure the setting is as safe as possible, whilst ensuring the children are assured and feel secure.

Children should only attend pre-school if they are free of the common symptoms of Covid 19, they are, a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a change to sense of smell or taste. Children will no longer have their temperature taken at the door, but we will take a child’s temperature during the day if we feel it is prudent to do so. Should the child have a raised temperature, of 38o or more we will contact the parent/carer and we expect the child to be collect from pre-school immediately. The child should then be tested for Covid 19, and the results relayed to the setting. We will follow current reporting procedures if a positive case is identified.

Staff and children must wash their hands before and after, snack, lunch, and any food related activities.

Toys and equipment will be wiped clean when needed and deep cleaned at least once every half term. Toilets, and equipment used in the toilet, such as seats and steps will be cleaned daily, as will doorknobs and tables.

We do not provide spare/replacement clothing for the children. Parents must provide at least one full set of clothing for their child when they attend. We will not use clothing on a child belonging to another. Should a child require a change of clothes, and it has not been supplied we will contact the parents for them to bring a change of clothes to us.
