Lost Child

We are very careful about the security and safety of the children in our care, however in the very unlikely event a child should go missing it is essential to have stringent procedures in place to ensure all is done to find the child.

 

OUTSIDE PRE-SCHOOL

Children are only taken out of the pre-school with the prior written permission of the parent/carer.  The ratio of children to adults is 2:1, and the children will wear Hi-Vis jackets.  Should a child go missing during an outing the police and parents/carers will be notified immediately, help will be recruited from appropriate adults, and a search started immediately.

 

INSIDE/AT PRE-SCHOOL

A detailed search will be made of the premises, and the immediate outside area, by all staff members not required to care for the other children. The police and parent/carer will be contacted by the manager.
